Musgraves has publicly addressed a past disagreement with Lambert that dated back to early career song choices. She recalled that a song pitched around the time of her first album led to a tricky moment, but ultimately she moved on, wrote a different track and later reconciled with Lambert. The pair say they worked through old issues, shared laughs and completed "Horses and Divorces" in just a few hours. The tune appears on Musgraves' album Middle of Nowhere, which is out now, and reps were contacted for comment at the time.
