NBC confirmed via Instagram that the Saturday Night Live star will appear as a guest judge for the third quarterfinal round on Tuesday, Sept. 1. Thompson, 48, will join Howie Mandel, Sofía Vergara and Mel B at the judges' table as season 21 progresses.
