The natural pools, often considered a hidden gem by vacationers, can become lethal traps during rough seas, with towering waves pulling people into the open ocean and strong currents making return nearly impossible. Just on November 8, Tenerife faced similar alarming situations, leading to three fatalities and numerous injuries.
